The Turks Are Obsessed With Crypto, Particularly Dogecoin – Research

Although the crypto market is in a severe downtrend, interest in the market is not entirely negative. However, there isn’t any sign that the market is about to be bullish again.

A recent study by CryptoManiaks, a crypto education platform, shows that many nations are still searching the internet for more information about cryptocurrencies. For example, the survey shows that the Netherlands ranked first, with 8.3% of its residents searching for crypto topics.

Turkey ranked second, with 5.6% of its residents searching for crypto topics. Mainly, Turkey accounts for 4.75 million searches, dominating the searches in terms of volume.

The study by CryptoManiaks converted the total number of searches for a specific set of prominent cryptocurrencies into a ratio of each country’s population. Then, it used this data to determine the percentage of locals conducting monthly searches about crypto.

Turkey came in second for overall crypto searches and took first place for all searches related to Dogecoin, the popular memecoin. Dogecoin had 812,000 searches per month among the Turks.

It is worth noting that this number of monthly Dogecoin searches is almost twice Ethereum searches. A representative from CryptoManiaks offered the following insight on the DOGE search volume, particularly in the past 12 months:

He claimed that in countries around the world, Dogecoin had gained more popularity than Ethereum over the years. However, these 2 million Dogecoin searches per month is the proof.

The US And UK Missing Among Top Crypto Searchers

One of the reasons Dogecoin remains one of the most popular digital assets can be traced to its adoption by Tesla CEO and social media influencer Elon Musk. Based on search volume, the Netherlands, which finished first, and Turkey, which came in second place, was followed by Canada, the Czech Republic, and Germany.

Despite being key players in the global crypto market, neither the United States nor the United Kingdom was among the top searchers. With 1.9% of its population searching for crypto-related topics, the US came fifteenth.

The UK took up position 12, with 2.6 percent of its population searching for crypto-related content. Recent research by a news outlet also showed that despite the state of the market, major institutions continue to be interested in the sector.
