Japan’s Largest Insurance Company To Offer Insurance Services In The Metaverse
Tokio Marine, the largest insurance company in Japan, has joined the metaverse trend. The company plans to extend its operation and services to the virtual space.
Meanwhile, the company has over 39,000 workers scattered across the globe. The new metaverse scheme will enable its clients to buy and review insurance products in a virtual world.
Tokio Marine To Launch Operations On Virtual Akiba World
Meanwhile, tech, gaming, and social corporations have been the top entities embracing the metaverse concept. However, other industries are gradually joining the trend by launching their services on the metaverse.
According to reports, Japan’s largest casualty and property insurance entity will start offering insurance services in the virtual space in January. Interested clients can interact with digital clerks to get more information about an insurance product.
Also, they can send and fill out forms without going to a physical office. According to a local news media, Yomiuri Shimbun, clients can sign and conclude contracts on Virtual Akiba World.
Furthermore, Tokio Marine will launch its operation on a metaverse platform called Virtual Akiba World. The metaverse platform is a virtual version of a Japanese town called Akihabara.
While speaking about the new development, the insurance giant’s statement read, “our company will offer an engaging and interactive user experience using the metaverse. Hence, it will reduce the psychological burden associated with insurance consultations.”
The firm added the metaverse move opens a new door for causal insurance consultations.
Tokio Marine To Launch A Driving Course
Furthermore, Tokio Marine plans to launch an engaging activity for its clients. Drivers will get to take a driving course using a flying car.
This exercise will allow the insurance firm to determine users’ driving styles. Also, it would help the company get acquainted with the merits insurance can offer to specific users.
The metaverse has gained massive traction in 2023, with big firms, artists, and football clubs entering the space. Japanese and Asian firms have been major leaders in the metaverse sector.
Several Japanese firms have invested millions in developing virtual technologies to enhance user experience in this nascent field. Among these firms is MUFG.
MUFG is among the biggest banks in Japan. Recently, the banking firm revealed that it would start providing financial services in the digital world in 2023.
Earlier in October, a Japanese-based telecommunication company, NTT Docomo, launched a metaverse division. Additionally, the company invested over $412 million into the division, which has more than 200 workers as of November.
