At the start of the year, Notcoin launched, along with its native token. Since then, it has grown to become one of the most-played Telegram games, with thousands of daily active users.
Hamster Kombat appears to be following in Notcoin’s footsteps. While the game has yet to launch fully, it has already attracted over 250 million players. Like Notcoin, Hamster Kombat and games like Yescoin and PixelTap have adopted a tap-to-earn model to reward active players.

Notcoin
Backed by the TON Foundation, Notcoin is the biggest game on Telegram as of August 2024. Before its launch on January 1st, the game allowed over 30 million early users to collect points, which were redeemable for NOT, Notcoin’s native token.
When NOT entered the market in May, its market cap and price peaked at $3 billion and $0.028, respectively. As of this writing, there are 102.49 billion NOT tokens in circulation.
Notcoin developer now says its project is evolving to a “Netflix for crypto games,” allowing users to access other games. As of this writing, Lost Dogs: The Way is the only external game that Notcoin users can play.
Hamster Kombat
This game has generated significant interest over the past few weeks thanks to its upcoming token airdrop. To play it, you first become a CEO (fuzzy hamster) of a small crypto exchange. To grow that exchange, you need to invest in multiple upgrades, which will later earn you passive income.
According to the Hamster Kombat team, the more upgrades a user invests in, the bigger their token airdrop allocation. However, it is not yet clear when the token will launch.
Catizen
Catizen was launched in March. Over the past few months, it has attracted 20.1 million users. As a player, you are required to pair and merge resembling cats, which enables you to earn digital coins.
Catizen has been teasing token airdrop for a while now. Its developer urges players to continue participating in the game to boost their chances of receiving an airdrop.
Besides TON, Catizen plans to expand to Ethereum scaling solution Mantle soon. Moreover, It says it will start donating 1% of revenue to organizations that nurse stray cats.
TapSwap
TapSwap is one of the few Telegram games that offer two play modes. The first one requires users to tap a golden coin to earn crypto rewards. To boost these rewards, users must purchase upgrades.
In the second mode, Tappy Town, users choose a town and upgrade buildings in that area to receive crypto.
So, does TapSwap have a native token? No! However, its developer announced in July that an airdrop will happen in the third quarter of 2024.
Yescoin
Yescoin’s developer made one of the simplest games on Telegram. To earn crypto, players only need to “swipe” little pixel coins that appear on their screens. If you are lucky enough, you might get a treasure chest that contains more pixel coins.
Yescoin has attracted 18.5 million users since launching in late May. It recently told the players that it was working on its upcoming native token, YES, which will be airdropped based on the number of points collected.
X Empire
X Empire is inspired by the world’s wealthiest man, Elon Musk. After tapping and earning coins, you spend them on upgrades that enable you to unlock aspects like “Empathy” and Critical Thinking” and build a team around Musk.
The game’s developer announced recently that a native token will launch in October.
PixelTap
This game is a product of gaming company Pixelverse. It allows users to collect coins and use them to purchase robots, which can participate in battle to earn more rewards.
Pixelverse rolled out its token PIXFI on the Ethereum blockchain in July. At the time, the company said it would soon launch PIXFI on TON to reward players.
