Oldest NFT-Powered Game Gods Unchained, is Now Available in Epic Games Store

On Thursday, Immutable Games Studio, the developer of the longest-running blockchain-based game, Gods Unchained, announced that the project had debuted in Epic Games Store marketplace. The game publisher hopes the move will enable Gods Unchained to reach a wider audience.

Epic Games Store has more than 200 million users. Besides Gods Unchained, these users enjoy other games already available in the marketplace, including Grit, Blankos Block Party, and Fortnite.

Gods Unchained executive producer Daniel Paez says on top of availing the game to millions of users, Epic Games Store also offers players a new way of experiencing it. He claims many players nowadays prefer PC gaming hubs such as the one provided by Epic.

Paez reveals that Gods Unchained on the game’s official website and the one in Epic Games Store won’t have any differences in terms of appearance.

Gods Unchained 2023 Plans Revealed

The latest move is part of this year’s Gods Unchained expansion plans. The game was initially launched on Ethereum in 2018 and later migrated to layer-2 network Immutable X to allow gamers to carry out faster and cheaper transactions.

Even though Paez believes Gods Unchained foundation is strong, he says the game still lacks extra pieces, like additional modes that can compel players to stick around for long. For this reason, he discloses that Immutable Games Studio is focusing on launching new modes for its game this year.

Immutable Games Studio to Launch iOS and Android Apps for Gods Unchained

In addition, Gods Unchained will soon be available as both Android and iOS apps, thanks to Immutable Games Studio’s partnership with iLogos. Paez reports that the company allowed some players to test Gods Unchained Android app in February, and the feedback was positive.

As for the iOS app, it comes at a time when tech giant Apple is still embracing centralization by not letting app developers direct users to external payment processors. It also charges huge fees on in-app purchases. Paez, however, says when Gods Unchained launches on App Store, Immutable Games Studio will comply with Apple’s rules.

Gods Unchained won’t be the first Web3 game to launch an iOS app. Last month, Axie Infinity debuted on App Store.
