African-Based Web3 Platform And UniPass Partner To Increase Crypto Adoption In Africa
Cassava Network, an African-based Web3 platform that offers loyalty rewards, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and gaming, has recently upgraded its platform. The third version of the Web3 platform incorporates integration with UniPass, a non-custodial smart contract wallet.
This integration enables users to use email addresses instead of seed phrases, thereby making the platform more accessible and easier to use.
New Partnership To Help Africans Move From Web2 To Web3
The partnership aims to facilitate the transition of Africans to the Web3 space by allowing users who create Cassava accounts to register on UniPass seamlessly. This collaboration allows them to store, transfer, and receive on-chain digital assets across various Ethereum Virtual Machine blockchains.
During a recent interview, Mouloukou Sanoh, the co-founder of Cassava Network, elaborated on how African businesses and users can leverage the platform’s new version to enjoy Web3 offerings.
“Through Cassava v3, we have simplified the process for African users to engage with their preferred Web2 and Web3 companies. As these users interact with the brands, they receive CB Coins and additional on-chain rewards that the brands can offer,” Sanoh explained.
Meanwhile, CB Coins are the native tokens used on the Cassava Network. Furthermore, Sanoh mentioned that despite CB Coins currently existing off-chain, users would soon have the option to exchange them for on-chain assets.
Once this feature is available, CB Coins holders can use the token to purchase mystery boxes and concert tickets from the platform. As a result of the recent partnership, Cassava Network users can now access the UniPass wallet directly.
In addition, Sanoh commented on businesses using the Cassava v3 platform, stating that “Cassava v3 serves as a platform for partners to expand their presence in the African market.”
Businesses To Increase User Engagement With Community Feature
Furthermore, business brands collaborating with Cassava Network can establish communities on the platform by leveraging the newly introduced “community” feature. This enables them to generate user engagement and followership across various platforms by creating tasks for users. Those who take part in such tasks earn rewards.
During the interview, the Cassava Network executive also discussed the new version’s potential to enhance Africa’s business economy. According to Sanoh, “Cassava v3 acts as a link for Web3 businesses worldwide to engage with Web2 users in Africa.”
Sanoh revealed that 90% of the partners utilizing the Cassava v3 community feature, are African businesses. Meanwhile, Cassava Network is not the only entity working to onboard Web2 users to Web3 in Africa.
Last year, Binance exchange revealed its plans to launch a digital economic zone in Nigeria. The digital economic zone is poised to become the first digital free zone in West Africa, providing a platform for Nigerian entrepreneurs to accelerate their integration of blockchain technology.
Moreover, it represents a unique opportunity for Nigeria to reduce its reliance on its oil-based economy and explore new avenues for economic growth.
